By downloading, accessing, or using VascularWalk, you agree to these Terms of Use, this Medical and Safety Disclaimer, and this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
VascularWalk is intended for personal wellness tracking, rehabilitation support, education, and organization. The app may provide walking prompts, pain check-ins, progress charts, session summaries, education, reminders, and exportable reports. These features are informational only.
You may use VascularWalk only for lawful purposes and only in a manner consistent with these terms. You may not misuse the app, attempt to interfere with its operation, reverse engineer it, copy it for unauthorized distribution, or use it to harm yourself or others.
2. Medical and Safety Disclaimer
VascularWalk is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency response, or clinical monitoring. The app does not replace a physician, vascular specialist, physical therapist, supervised exercise therapy program, emergency service, or any other licensed healthcare professional.
Walking therapy and exercise may not be appropriate for every person. Before starting or changing an exercise program, talk with your healthcare professional. This is especially important if you have peripheral artery disease, claudication, heart disease, diabetes, neuropathy, wounds, recent surgery or vascular intervention, balance problems, chest symptoms, shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, or any other medical condition.
Stop and seek help
Stop exercising and seek urgent medical care or call emergency services if you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, fainting, new weakness, severe leg pain, sudden swelling, signs of stroke, a cold or blue foot, a new or worsening wound, bleeding, severe dizziness, or any symptom that feels dangerous or unusual for you.
Do not use VascularWalk to decide whether symptoms are safe. When in doubt, stop and contact a qualified healthcare professional.
3. Appropriate Use and User Responsibilities
You are responsible for using VascularWalk safely and for following instructions from your healthcare team. You agree that you will:
- Use the app only when it is safe to walk or exercise.
- Use appropriate footwear and inspect your feet as recommended by your clinician.
- Stop or rest when symptoms, surroundings, weather, traffic, balance, pain, or fatigue make walking unsafe.
- Enter information accurately to the best of your ability.
- Review app reports with a qualified healthcare professional before making care decisions.
- Not rely on the app as your only source of medical guidance.
VascularWalk may include education about PAD, claudication, walking programs, foot care, and progress tracking. Educational content is general and may not apply to your individual condition.
4. Privacy Notice
VascularWalk is designed to help you record and organize health-related information on your device. Depending on the features you use, the app may store information such as your profile, diagnosis category, physician name, walking sessions, pain scores, distance, pace, heart rate samples, route points, ABI readings, foot inspection logs, photos, notes, reminders, step counts, and reports.
Data practices may vary by app version, platform, device settings, permissions, and services you choose to enable. You control permissions for Health data, location, camera, notifications, and other device features through your device settings.
Information you enter
The app may store information that you enter directly, including profile details, physician name, walking notes, pain ratings, ABI values, foot care notes, and program preferences.
Information from your device
With your permission, the app may access device sensors or system services such as location, camera, Apple Health, Android Health Connect, notifications, and motion-related data to support app functionality.
Local storage
VascularWalk may store information locally on your device using app storage. If you delete the app, change devices, reset your device, or remove permissions, your stored information may be lost or become unavailable unless you have exported or backed it up through tools available to you.
5. Health, Location, and Camera Data
Health data
If you connect Apple Health or Android Health Connect, VascularWalk may read data such as heart rate and step count, and may write workout or walking-session information where supported. You can manage these permissions in your device settings or Health app settings.
Location data
If you allow location access, VascularWalk may use location while you are using the app to estimate walking route and distance during sessions. Location estimates can be inaccurate, unavailable, delayed, or affected by device hardware, buildings, weather, signal quality, battery settings, and other factors.
Camera and photos
If you use foot inspection or photo features, the app may access your camera or photo library so you can record images for your own tracking. Photos can contain sensitive health information. Use care when storing, exporting, or sharing them.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, VascularWalk may send reminders related to walking sessions, foot checks, or app use. Notifications are not medical alerts and should not be relied upon for urgent care.
7. Accuracy and Availability
VascularWalk depends on user entries, device sensors, operating system services, Health integrations, location services, and other technical factors. Information shown in the app may be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or different from measurements made by clinical equipment.
The app may be updated, interrupted, discontinued, or changed at any time. No guarantee is made that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device, operating system, Health service, or third-party dependency.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developers, owners, contributors, affiliates, and distributors of VascularWalk are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the app or its content.
This includes, without limitation, injury, worsening of a medical condition, missed symptoms, inaccurate data, lost data, device issues, interrupted service, incorrect reports, or decisions made based on app information. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or non-infringement.
9. Intellectual Property
VascularWalk, including its design, text, graphics, software, workflows, and related content, is owned by its developers or licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by law or written permission.
10. Changes and Contact
These terms may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be identified by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of VascularWalk after an update means you accept the updated terms.
